Materials and Methods Materials. MOPS1 and DL-isocitrate, trisodium salt, were purchased
from Calbiochem. Highly purified isocitric de-hydrogenase, trisodium phosphoenolpyruvate
hydrate, so-dium glyoxylate monohydrate, and monosodium NADP+ were purchased from
Sigma Chemical Co. Sodium 2, 6-di-chlorophenolindophenol was purchased from Eastman
Kodak Company. Itaconic acid was purchased from the Matheson Company. Succinic acid
was purchased from Mallinckrodt Chemical Works.
